PURPOSE & PASSION - Grey Wolf Camp

What Is Passion?

Passion is what releases your emotions, what motivates you, and what makes you feel good. Passion is often connected to your innate abilities, talent, and desires. It is what you love to do and do well without feeling stressed or compelled.

Passion is an essential ingredient for success. Most successful people are people of great passion. When you have passion for something, you will strive towards its mastery, and this boosts your productivity. Passion also boosts your confidence, and confidence leads to success. With passion, you can muscle the required strength to forge through life challenges and other hurdles that stop others from becoming successful.

What Is Purpose?

Purpose is the reason you do what you do. It is the motivation behind your actions and pursuits in life. Purpose is often connected to an understanding of a reason for living—the reason behind your unique life story, your background, and the future ahead of you.

Purpose is very important in life; it is actually the true yardstick for measuring success and impact. Purpose gives your life a direction and keeps you focused. When you know the reason why you are who you are and what you are meant to do, your life ceases to be an experiment; rather you will be living with conviction, and life becomes more meaningful.

The Differences

There are key differences between passion and purpose, although you should bring them together to live a fulfilled life. Purpose is based on conviction, while passion is based on energy, feeling, and interest. Passion can burn out over time. However, purpose is for a lifetime.

Tell Me Something Good

This past weekend we gathered for the first of two Gray Wolf Camps; we have scheduled this year. The theme of this first camp was ‘Purpose and Passion” What an amazing time spent together enjoying the fellowship, fun of being together, working hard in the hot sun, listening and being transparent and authentic with one another, and praying and worshiping together! Thanks to Bob and Mark Exeler who hosted Grey Wolf Camp on their beautiful 87-acre farm in Dry Ridge KY. Tripp Harden and Dave Deger have prepared a video for you to get a look into what Grey Wolf Camp is all about. I encourage you to check these out!

I was so blessed and so proud of the ways our group of men laughed, listen, worshiped together, and lighten some burdens, worries and fears of fellow campers! I’ve always believed that Mighty Men was more than a service group or even a group that gathers to have a bible study once a week. Connecting with men over 50 and to God with a focus on the following.

We have talked about Mighty Men having two basis purposes

To Be Transformational

·        To Broken people

·        Men lacking a purpose in life

Deploy equipped men of God into the community

· To serve

· Discipleship/ Evangelism

The Sunday worship service theme was Purpose and Passion

Dan Owens led our worship time together and spoke about how Christians are called to be “transformational” or how our hearts need to “morph”. Dano shared an interpretation of scripture in a passage in Romans and Ephesians

Romans 12-12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:11-16

New International Version So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Together, as a band of brothers, we voiced our prayer requests and then lifted them to the Lord. Afterword’s , the group shared communion together, which was so special for everyone! We came together to encourage and support one another and to seek each of our purpose in life.

If you are up for an adventure, with out fearing for your life, or your health, Grey Wolf Camp II may be the perfect escape for you. The next Grey Wolf Camp will be held the weekend of September 10 – 11 – 12. Sign up now on line now

We had some great memories sitting sipping that good “brown water” thanks to Mr. Deger and smoking some great cigars thanks to Dave Rettig, sitting around the campfire looking up at the beautiful night sky with all the stars. We had some challenging but funny times too with some “slightly extra toasted” breakfast burritos, raining inside some tents and the infamous wet sleeping bag. And we cannot forget the first time the Polaris ATV got stuck in Exeler farm history! It was easy to feel that we serve a BIG God and that He truly is a good father.

So, Text me or call me with something good” from you weekend or from just today! Stay positive and  stay passionate about your purpose! God bless all you Mighty Men!
